Helen Festhalle Operations Manager Rutger Klauber, 58, of Helen, was at his desk in the Festhalle's ground-floor administrative office at 8:47 a.m. Wednesday morning, April 15, when Helen contract post office clerk Delbert Ashworth delivered, in person, a certified-mail envelope with a return address in Burbank, California. Mr. Klauber signed for the envelope. He opened the envelope. It contained a four-page letter.
The letter, printed on heavy 32-pound bond with a watermark depicting a stylized treble clef, bears the letterhead "MEGHAN TRAINOR ENTERPRISES LLC — A DELAWARE LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY — NO PUBLIC PHONE." The letter is dated April 12, 2026 — two days after Ms. Trainor's publicly announced cancellation of her Get In Girl Tour, which had been scheduled to begin in late June in Detroit. It is signed "Per Ms. Trainor's Logistics Team," without a printed name beneath the signature.
The letter's core content is as follows, quoted in full:
"We are in receipt of your message (of date unspecified) and write in reply to confirm that, despite Ms. Trainor's publicly announced cancellation of her Get In Girl Tour, we wish to confirm our agreed July date at your venue. We look forward to a positive event. We request, as previously discussed, a venue-side provision of approximately 240 standard black folding chairs, a cheese platter of moderate size, and a practical microphone stand, along with our previously agreed technical specifications. We confirm that all invoicing will be handled through Meghan Trainor Enterprises LLC's standard process, which operates, as you know, from a Delaware limited liability company and has no public phone number. We trust you will find our arrangements complete."
The letter closes with the instruction: "If this does not reflect the agreed arrangement, please confirm your understanding in writing to the above P.O. box, at your earliest convenience."
The Festhalle's position
Mr. Klauber, interviewed at his desk Thursday afternoon, said he had reviewed, upon receipt of the letter, the Festhalle's complete bookings database (a Microsoft Access database maintained since 1994); the Festhalle's paper archive (a three-drawer filing cabinet in a basement storage room containing bookings from 1971 through 1993); and the email inbox of the Festhalle's booking director, Carlotta Munz. No record exists, in any of these sources, of any correspondence between the Festhalle and Meghan Trainor, her representatives, her management, her agents, her counsel, or any entity identifying itself as Meghan Trainor Enterprises LLC, at any point since the Festhalle's 1971 inauguration.
Carlotta Munz herself, interviewed separately Thursday morning by this reporter, confirmed she had "never received, drafted, initiated, acknowledged, or in any way been party to" any such booking or correspondence.
The Festhalle's public calendar for July 2026 currently lists four events: the Helen Oktoberfest Preview Night (July 11), the White County School Board's teacher-appreciation dinner (July 18), a private wedding reception (July 19, private), and the Annual Helen Bratwurst Festival pre-booking meeting (July 23). None of these is a Meghan Trainor concert.
Meghan Trainor Enterprises LLC
Delaware's Division of Corporations confirms the existence of an entity named "MEGHAN TRAINOR ENTERPRISES LLC," registered November 2022, with a registered agent at an address in Wilmington. This is a common structure for entertainer LLCs and does not, on its face, indicate anything unusual.
Meghan Trainor's publicly listed management, Crush Music, reached Thursday by email, did not respond by press time. A phone call to the number listed on the Crush Music website for booking inquiries was answered by an automated system that offered three options, one of which was "For Meghan Trainor tour inquiries, please press 4." When this reporter pressed 4, the automated system said: "This option is currently unavailable."
Mr. Klauber's response
Mr. Klauber, asked how he intended to respond to the letter's closing instruction, said he had drafted, Thursday afternoon, a two-sentence reply addressed to the Burbank P.O. box. The reply, he said, reads:
"Dear Ms. Trainor's Logistics Team: The Helen Festhalle has no record of any agreed July date with Ms. Trainor or her representatives. Sincerely, Rutger Klauber, Operations Manager."
He intended to send the reply Friday via certified mail.
He had, he said, "no expectation" of a clarifying follow-up.
At press time Thursday evening, the Festhalle's July calendar remained as listed above, with no Meghan Trainor concert pending or confirmed.
