Bavarian Brainrot is the daily newspaper of record for Helen, Georgia, and the surrounding mountains of Northeast Georgia. We cover Helen city government, the White County Board of Commissioners, the North Georgia Wine Trail, the Chattahoochee River economy, and the slow-moving consumer-facing wonders that make this part of the state the most consequential thirty-mile-radius region in the lower 48.

We are, by editorial position, an institutional voice. We do not file in the first person except in opinion. We do not invent direct quotes attributed to real living named individuals. We do not run unsourced material. Every claim we file is sourced, where possible, to a public document linked at the top of the relevant article. Our Source Document boxes appear on every piece that touches a real-world entity.

To produce satirical local journalism of broadcast-news quality, anchored in the documentary record of Helen and Northeast Georgia. To treat the most mundane bureaucratic actions of local government — millage adjustments, zoning amendments, leaf-blower decibel ceilings, the Wednesday trash route — with the same seriousness The New York Times applies to a federal cabinet appointment. To make the comedy land, every single time, by playing it absolutely straight.
