Connor McAllister covers crime and public safety for Bavarian Brainrot. A 2024 graduate of the Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia, he spent his senior year as City Editor of The Red & Black, where he led the paper’s coverage of the Athens-Clarke County police-records modernization fight.

He joined Bavarian Brainrot as the publication’s second hire, and he files the daily police-blotter dispatch (which, on a normal Tuesday, contains between three and five goose-related incidents, one lederhosen-theft report, and one bear). He also covers the White County Sheriff’s Office, the Helen Police Department, and the recurring story of who, exactly, keeps attempting to scale the windmill at the Heidi Motel after dark.

Connor is the youngest member of the newsroom and the only one who reads the overnight call log every morning before nine. He does not yet have anecdotes. He is working on it.
